While Paris Saint-Germain are close to sealing Ousmane Dembele’s transfer fromBarcelonafor €50 million, a ɾєρօɾτ fromMundo Deportivohas emerged, claiming that the Ligue 1 side, thɾօυɢҺ their trusted intermediary, also askedBarcelonaif they are willing to sell Gavi.

TheBlaugrana, however, are not even contemplating the option because the young midfielder is arguably one of the most valuable players in the squad.

Luis Enrique the driving force behind PSG’s interest

19-year-old Gavi’s first appearance for the Spanish national team came in 2021. The midfielder made his debut in the UEFA Nations League semi-final against Italy and thus became the youngest player to ever represent Spain at senior level.

His debut for the national team happened under the tutelage of Luis Enrique, who happens to be PSG’s current head coach.

The aforementioned publication writes that the formerBarçamanager is a big fan of the youngster, whose agent, Ivan de la Pena, also happens to share a close relationship with Enrique.

As such, PSG launched an enquiry for Gavi thɾօυɢҺ intermediaries, only to be completely shot down byBarcelona.

The 19-year-old youngster, whose market value stands at €90 million, could not feature in any matches during the pre-season tour of the United States due to back problems.

But it goes without saying that he is simply irreplaceable in the team. He is, in fact, the present and the future ofBarcelona.

More movement betweenBarçaand PSG?

PSG are set to sign Dembele fromBarcelonaimminently, and the Frenchman’s departure is going to leave a big mark, especially at a point when theBlaugranahave very little time to react.

Meanwhile, there have also been ɾєρօɾτs of PSG showing an interest in signing Ansu Fati and now Gavi, too, appears to be on their radars.

At the same time, it is believed that Neymar could return toBarcelonaafter having ɾєρօɾτedly told PSG to let him go, but hisarrival would dwindle Barcelona’s finances altogether.

None of the Ԁєɑłs are likely to materialise, though, withBarcelonahaving no interest in letting Gavi go, while Fati has no desire to leave the club. And, as far as Neymar’s return is concerned, finances will not allow for the move to happen.
