Kylian Mbappe has become a real headache for Paris Saint-Germain. After confirming his desire to stay at the club next season, it appears the forward is gunning for a move toReal Madridnext year.
That means Mbappe could joinLos Blancoson a free transfer in 2024, effectively leaving PSG with nothing. To solve the issue, the club have tried to convince the attacker to renew his contract or leave the French capital this summer.
PSG threaten to bench Mbappe all season
Unsurprisingly, PSG have had little luck convincing Mbappe to either extєɴԀ his contract or leave the club this summer.
The French international even knocked back a lucrative offer from Al Hilal, which would have made him the highest-paid athlete in the world.
In the midst of all this, PSG have now resorted to threatening Mbappe. They are open to sєɴԀing him to the stands for the entire season if the forward does not leave the club this summer.
This has been ɾєρօɾτed byCarrusel Deportivo, who claim that Mbappe is unlikely to be called up to the squad for the season opener against Lorient on August 12.
What should be Real Madrid’s play here?
Real Madrid certainly favour signing Mbappe next year, as it would help them cut some costs. But the club have appeared open to signing the player this summer.
However, the operation to sign the 24-year-old couldeasily reach €230-250 million, which is quite a tall order given the fact that the club also roped in Jude Bellingham for over €100 million earlier this summer.
PSG, for their part, are desperate to offload Mbappe this summer. This has been exacerbated by the club’slikely capture of Ousmane Dembele.
The coming days, therefore, could be crucial as PSG look to not only complete the signing of Dembele but also sanction the sale of Mbappe.
