He was linked with a shock move to Premier League rivals Chelsea at the start of this monthbutInterMilan are currently leading the race to sign him.

TheSerie Aside have switched their attention to Balogun after they єɴԀed their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku andFCInterNewsare ɾєρօɾτing that theArsenalman is their ‘favourite’ target.

The ɾєρօɾτ claimsInterMilan have ‘offered the same figures’ toArsenalthat they proposed toChelseafor Romelu Lukaku. Their bid is said to be worth 35 million euros plus five in bonuses (around £34m overall).

This offer was ‘considered too low’ byArsenal, who are ɾєρօɾτedly holding out for around £50m for Balogun this summer. The ɾєρօɾτ points out that West Ham’s Gianluca Scamacca and Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata are being considered as alternatives to the Gunners youngster.

Ex-Arsenal player Alan Smith reckons his former club would be wise to get rid of Balogun this summer.

“It is hard because he’s [Balogun] a few notches down the pecking order now, especially with Havertz coming into the squad,” Smith told Gambling Zone.

“I think the management probably see Nketiah being further ahead of him at the moment, they are similar types of players, and the club must think that Nketiah is a little bit better than Balogun. From Balogun’s point of view, he will be thinking more about how much game time he’s going to get.”

He continued: “He’s a valuable player who can probably fetch £30million plus after the season he had in France. With financial fair play and all the rest of it, that that could helpArsenala fair bit.”
