The 24-year-old’s fall from a position of power in the club last season to being out of favour has been difficult to watch. Yet, one cannot fault the Parisian giants for taking a harsh decision on their biggest star considering his stubborn stance.
PSG have now made it clear that the youngster will play no further part in their dynamics unless he takes a binding decision on his future. In front of him lay two options – the proposition to sign a new contract and stay in Paris or agree to leave immediately.
It is clear that Nasser Al-Khelaifi will not entertain the player’s wish of leaving on a free transfer, for it would be a massive economic loss for his club. The French club are thus now open to discussing his transfer with any team willing to shell out a large fee.
According to ɾєρօɾτs fromFabrizio Romano, Saudi Arabia-based siԀєɑł-Hilalhave submitted a formal bid to PSG for Mbappe. The bid is said to be valued at €300 million, making it the largest bid in the history of football transfers.
The middle-east based side offer the World Cup winner a salary package of €700 million over one year according toJames Benge. Further, they would be open to allowing him to joinReal Madridin 2024 should he choose to.
Romano adds that PSG believe Mbappe has already agreed terms withReal Madridfor a move next summer and has a contract ready.
Given that the youngster wishes to move next summer after procuring significant financial gains, a move to Saudi Arabia would help him achieve the same goal with regular minutes under his belt.
However, given his status as one of the best in the game, it is unlikely that a move to Saudi, however lucrative, would appeal to Mbappe. It remains to be seen how the situation develops in the coming days.
