Harry Kane is still a Tottenham player but Daniel Levy is expected to come under pressure to sell him before the transfer window closes.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been told Harry Kane cannot be allowed to run down his contract.
It is understood Spurs owner Joe Lewis has instructed Levy to either sell Kane or renew his contract that expires next June. Kane is not expected to sign a new Ԁєɑł with Tottenham.
Kane, who turns 30 next week, is Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag’s iԀєɑł striker target but the club haveturned to Rasmus Hojlund of Atalantaamid Levy’s refusal to sell Kane to a Premier League club.
England captain Kane is believed to be demanding an annual salary of £30million, which would have to include incentives and image rights as the salary would be too steep for the majority of clubs.
TheManchester Evening Newsɾєρօɾτed earlier this monthUnited were still monitoring Kane’s situationon the off-chance Spurs are open to selling him to a domestic rival. Bayern Munich are the only club who have bid for Kane but their £65million offer was rєjєƈτed.
United do not want to”play games” with Levy, who is infamous for driving a hard bargain and prolonging negotiations.
If Kane is not sold this summer, he will be able to agree a pre-contract Ԁєɑł with an overseas club in the January transfer window or play out the season at Spurs and move to another English club in 12 months.
Ten Hag refused to discuss Kane at a press conference on Friday when he was asked why United were not competing to sign a striker who was out of contract in under 12 months.
United have already invested £107m to sign Mason Mount and Andre Onana but they currently lack an out-and-out striker as Anthony Martial is still recovering from a torn hamstring.

Eintracht Frankfurt goalscorer Randal Kolo Muani is regarded as an alternative and attainable option to Hojlund. The 24-year-old, like Hojlund, is under contract until 2027.

“Across Man United, a lot of people, we do everything that’s in our power to get the right man in,” Ten Hag said. “Transfer market, you nerve know, but we know our targets and we do everything we can. We put every effort in to get this done because it’s an area where we need improvement.”
United captain Bruno Fernandes echoed Ten Hag: “We know that now with Wout (Weghorst) gone we are missing a striker.
“Anthony is still not fit so we have only one player for the striker position so the club knows and the manager knows that we need more people in that position.
“Marcus (Rashford) can do that position really well, Jadon is doing it in pre-season and is doing really well but any player who comes in in any position and who can help us, we will be really happy.”
