AsReal Madridget started with their ρɾєρɑɾɑtions for the upcoming season on their pre-season tour of the United States of America, manager Carlo Ancelotti briefly spoke with the media earlier today.
The Italian tactician gave an insight into the new signings and the squad for the upcoming season, while also commenting on the never-єɴԀing links with Kylian Mbappe and his own future amidst the speculations of him joining the Brazil national team next year.
When asked aboutthe interest in Mbappeand how his potential arrival would bolster the team further, Ancelotti refused to get drawn in on the speculations, saying:
“I’ve never talked about players who are not at Madrid. I can talk about how many a lot of new players we have: Bellingham, Fran Garcia, Arda Güler. Also, Brahim, who has come back very well from his experience in Milan. He is a stronger and more complete player.
“I can also talk about how well Modric, Vinicius, and Rodrygo have returned. Talking about those who are not here doesn’t seem right to me.”
On being asked if he was happy with the transfer business thatReal Madridhave done so far this summer, Ancelotti replied in the affirmative, stating that the squad had improved now.
“I am very happy with the new arrivals. They are going to help us and bring quality to the squad. Fran García is going to cover the left wing very well, where we had problems last year; Joselu can give us a bit more in the air in the box,”he said.
“Güler is very talented, he is very young, I think the fɑɴȿ are going to enjoy this player. Bellingham is a great inside player with qualities that we don’t have in the squad, he has a good arrival in the box without the ball. The squad has improved.”
There has been a lot of talk about Ancelottiswitching formation this seasonand hinting at the same, the 64-year-old said:”I want to try something new at the beginning, see how it goes, and if it doesn’t work out, we always have the old system that gave us so much in the past.”
When asked about his own future amid rumours that he will be the Brazil manager next year, Ancelotti made it clear that he does not intєɴԀ to speak on the matter, saying:
“We closed this issue on the first day and got it out of the way. I will never talk about Brazil. I’m not going to talk about it anymore. I’m staying with the contract I have until 30 June 2024.”
And when probed if he would be willing to sign a new contract ifReal Madridwere to offer him one, Ancelotti said:
“I’m in no hurry to renew, because I have a contract. I have total confidence in the club. Let’s see what happens this season.
“I think the season will go well, we have a lot of confidence because the squad has improved, although we have lost a fundamental player like Karim [Benzema], a club legєɴԀ. We have a very young squad and we are convinced that they will give us a lot of joy.”
On being asked about the experience of touring the US withReal Madrid, Ancelotti said:”We have always felt good here. It’s a nice place, we can train well, we have competitive matches where you can see where the team is at.
“We have to try something these days. All the players are back in good condition. We are confident and excited that we are going to start the season well.”
Speaking of the importance that the pre-season tour holds, Ancelotti added:”We have new players. We have to make sure they adapt quickly to our style and our philosophy. It’s an important moment in the season and we’re going to spєɴԀ it in a good atmosphere, with a positive environment, and with a fan base that is always with us.”
