Rooney’s praise
Manchester United hero Wayne Rooney has hailed Arsenal following their 5-0 win over his MLS All-Star side.
“The result is what it is, Arsenal showed their quality”, the former England international said. “I thought the All-Star lads looked a bit nervous and hesitant, especially in the first half.
“I really like the players Arsenal have signed. They’ve signed players with experience which is important.
“Players with size as well. I think they’ll do better than last season. They have a really good coach in Mikel Arteta.”
Record set
Arsenal’s 5-0 win over the MLS All-Stars last night was a new record for biggest victory by a guest in an MLS All-Star match.
Goals from Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, Jorginho, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz secured the win for the Gunners.
