£47m ѕtаr now wаіtіng for рermіѕѕіon to trаvel for Mаncһeѕter ᴜnіted move

Andre Onana is awaiting permission to fly to England and join Manchester United with Inter Milan wanting a Ԁєɑł done quickly.

United finally appear to be closing in on a new goalkeeper with Onana on the verge of sealing his move.

Italian ɾєρօɾτer Alfredo Pedullaclaims that United are set to sign Inter Milan stopper Andre Onana with a Ԁєɑł being pushed thɾօυɢҺ.

Pedulla claims that United are paying around €48million to €50million (£41million to £43million) as a base fee.

Pedulla adds that there are add-ons in the Ԁєɑł which could take the fee to €55million (£47million), but some are ‘not easy to achieve’.

Inter, according to Pedulla, want to finalise the Ԁєɑł by Sunday evening with Onana now simply waiting for permission to fly to England.

Inter have lined up a couple of goalkeepers of their own with Yann Sommer and Anatoliy Trubin both wanted as they prepare for life without Onana.

How did Andre Onana fare under Erik ten Hag?

Onana is set to become the latest player to join United having previously worked with Ten Hag.

Lisandro Martinez and Antony both followed Ten Hag from Ajax to United last summer and now Onana is joining too.

The 27-year-old played a whopping 145 times for Ajax under Ten Hag, cementing himself as the first-choice stopper in Amsterdam.

Onana only lost 22 of those games and kept 58 clean sheets along the way.

Those numbers would have been even higher if not for a doping ban which hit Onana in 2021.

Ten Hag clearly trusts Onana not only to play out from the back, but also as a goalkeeper with a reunion now close.

Manchester United may not be done with goalkeeping changes

Onana is coming in and should immediately become United’s new first-choice stopper, replacing David De Gea.

Dean HєɴԀerson is waiting to join Nottingham Forest permanently having spent last year on loan there.

Loanee Jack Butland has already gone whilst there is interest in Tom Heaton from a few Premier League clubs.

That means United may need to add one or maybe even two more goalkeepers this summer.

A young talent like the recently-linked Zion Suzuki would make some sense, giving United a prospect to develop for the future.

Heaton’s experience would need to be replaced though and whilst having a clear first-choice Onana is a great step in the right direction, there could be much more work to do.
