Arsenal transfer news: The United States international continues to be linked with a move to Europe this summer and a move to Serie A could be the perfect move.

Folarin Balogun’s future atArsenalcontinues to tremble on with an unwanted question mark lurking above it.

The striker has started his ρɾєρɑɾɑtions for the 2023/24 season with the Gunners, making a 35-minute cameo in Thursday’s 1-1 draw with FC Nurnberg and making the trip to the United States for the upcoming tour in North America.

Mikel Arteta’s options in attack are currently loaded with Eddie Nketiah second fiddle to Gabriel Jesus in the single centre-forward spot. Balogun’s superb loan spell with Stade Reims last season – in which he scored 22 goals – has created a new problem for the Spaniard.

Yet, despite the USMNT star seeming to be third in the pecking order in north London,Arteta has remained coy when quizzed on Balogun’s future. Speaking after the 1-1 draw with Nurnberg, he said: “Well this is what he has been doing and that’s why we gave him the minutes that he deserves to show what he can do.

“He’s just staying here with us at the moment and we will see what happens.”

Now,with interest continuing to intensify, Balogun could be about to benefit from a transfer decision involving Chelsea. It has recently been ɾєρօɾτed in Italy that Inter Milan were withdrawing their interest in signing Romelu Lukaku this summer. Juventus are now the favourites to land the £35.2million-rated striker, though the Belgian is said to only want a return to Inter.

With Inter pulling out of the race for Lukaku, the door is now open for Balogun to secure a move to the San Siro. It’s understood that Inter are one of many teams monitoring Balogun’s situation at Arsenal and their decision to not make Lukaku’s move permanent could have a domino effect on Balogun’s future.

Currently, Inter are well-stocked in attack. Eden Dzeko’s exit has been swiftly forgotten about with Marcus Thuram’s free transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach. However, ongoing uncertainty over Lautaro Martinez’s future could see them be forced to sign another striker.
