Former Man Utd man Louis Saha “really likes” Red Devils target Sofyan Amrabat, and he feels he has qualities that would fit right into the side.
Amrabat’s been a target of United’s for some time. Indeed, his good World Cup put him on the radar of a number of Premier League sides, and United was one of those.
But while the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool were in the mix before, headlines are dominated by United. Both of those clubs have signed new midfielders this summer – as have United – but they seem to have cooled their interes.
That Erik ten Hag’s side arestill ‘keeping an eye’ on himafter the snare of Mason Mount shows the interest could turn into something more concrete.
Former Red Devil Saha has suggested Amrabat would be a great asset for United.
“Amrabat is a player that I really like and he’s got a great intensity level that I don’t believe is matched,” he toldBetfred.
That’s as he feels he has a lot of the right qualities to succeed, as, he believes, does Mount, who Amrabat could link up with.
“It would be exciting to see him at Manchester United and he would improve the overall balance of the squad. We need legs, we need energy and we need strength that can help us upset teams,” Saha added.
“Mason Mount is another player that can provide the team with more energy as he’s one of those footballers that runs eleven kilometres a game.”
Saha is essentially urging his former side to make a genuine attempt to sign Amrabat after having been linked for some time. It seems he wants the move, too.
Indeed, a recent ɾєρօɾτ stated he hasmade it ‘very clear’ he wants to leaveFiorentina amid interest from United, as well as clubs in Spain.
In response to that, given the Italian outfit received no bids for the midfielder while he was valued at £30million, they’ve apparently dropped their asking price to £25million.
Whether or not that will tempt the likes of United into the signing remains to be seen. Saha feels they might need to sign him if one of Fred or Scott McTominay – both are linked with moves away – leave this summer.
“Manchester United could benefit from the addition of another midfielder because you hear rumours that Fred or Scott McTominay could leave the club this summer,” Saha added.
“You definitely need to have two defensive midfielders in your squad, so if Fred or Scott do leave this summer, then you’re going to have to bring another player in. Marcel Sabitzer also left the club in the summer as well.”
