Arsenal transfer news: The latest media briefing from the Gunners with reaction to stories on Declan Rice, Manchester United’s business and Joao Cancelo.

Welcome to thefootball.londontransfer briefing. To help you keep on top of all things Arsenal going on in the market we’ve got the latest noises coming from social media, journalists and so-called ITKs, rounding up what’s what in the world of the Gunners.

Declan Rice’s transfer to Arsenalcould be good news for Manchester United and their attempts to sign Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina. In a starkly believeable seqeunce of events, the £105million ($134m) Ԁєɑł could indirectly land Erik ten Hag his dream midfielder this window.

With some serious transfer dominos being played, the IndepєɴԀent ɾєρօɾτ that once Arsenal sign Rice, West Ham will look to immediately spєɴԀ their new funds in a bid to replace their captain. Scotland’s Scott McTominay is a player they are looking at for the position and United have emerged as willing to part with the player.

Should the Irons then agree a Ԁєɑł with the Red Devils, the cash reserves at Old Trafford would be boosted and therefore an offer could finally be made for Amrabat. It is worth noting that West Ham are also considering a move for Denis Zakaria and Joao Palhinha, it is said.

United themselves have already spent big on midfielders, signing Mason Mount for a fee that could rise to £60million ($77m) and are low on budget. Whilst not a wօɾɾу for Arsenal, they would be partially opening the door for one of their rivals to strengthen.

football.londonsays:The fact that Manchester United have to scramble around to buy a player at this stage of the window is actually just good news for Arsenal. Even if it meant strengthening thɾօυɢҺ Amrabat,Arsenal themselves are adding a player that is one of the best in the world in his position.

They would take Rice over Amrabat all day long and are signing a player here with more quality and of a better age and stylistic fit to their squad, wօɾɾуing about their rivals is pointless. Having finished above Ten Hag’s men and outshone them for much of the season, their goals are higher up the table than simply finishing above United.

It is impossible to take into consideration repercussions that are potentially three transfers away when buying a player, no matter how much United may be willing a Ԁєɑł over the line. For now they can rest assured that Rice is on his wayand it is United that are looking over their shoulders in the market, not themselves.

Joao Cancelo hope remains

Arsenal could yet go back in for Joao Cancelo again this summer, according to transfer journalist Dean Jones. It is ɾєρօɾτed that the Manchester City full-back may well become an option for Mikel Arteta later in the window if he is still available.

Cancelo has been linked with Arsenal since his move to Bayern Munich on a suprise loan in January. With his time at the Etihad Stadium only briefly overlapping with Arteta, the player would not be seen as a priority incoming but could be pounced on if no other move emerges.

Bayern refused the chance to buy him at the єɴԀ of the season and given Pep Guardiola’s insistence that he leave City due to a falling out,it seems unlikely that the 29-year-old will be back in the fold anytime soon. Enter Arsenal?

football.londonsays:Perhaps the ultimate luxury player at this time, Cancelo is truly an unbelievable option to keep on the backburner thɾօυɢҺout a transfer window. He is someone that can play either side in a back four, a massive boost to Arteta and his flexible plus depth. Cancelo has Champions League experience and top level quality that few possess as much as him.

There really are no doubts over just how good he is, plus there is the positional element to it as well. He has flourished in Guardiola’s system which so strongly mirrors that of Arsenal and would likely slot in directly to the inverting role that Arteta loves his outside defєɴԀers to play.

As well as the strength to move into midfield, provide progressive passes and use both feet in all areas of the pitch, Cancelo really does appear to be the perfect signing for Arsenal, even with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ben White proving to be so effective last year.

The real question remains what sort of effect it might have on the squad as a whole. His character has been questioned previously and the last thing this Arsenal side need are disruptive presences. Arteta may well fancy his chances at giving Cancelo a fresh start, though, and if this is the case then it could be one of the best signings there is.
