Arsenal are said to be one of several sides alongside Al Hilal, AC Milan, Manchester United, Everton, Lille, Marseille, Tottenham and Roma to be interested in making a move for Porto striker Mehdi Taremi this summer.
The Iran star is out of contract next summer and pre-agreement for the player is not yet off the cards ahead of a potential free transfer but for now, ɾєρօɾτs in Portugal suggest that Arsenal have made initial enquiries over his availabilty.
With a price of around £17million ($21.8m) for a move this summer, the 30-year-old with 22 goals and seven assists in 31 league games last year is a consistent scorer across his career and is one of the most prolific forwards outside of Europe’s top five divisions.
