Erik ten Hag is plotting major overhaul at Man Utd.

According to ɾєρօɾτs, Erik ten Hag has asked Man Utd to ‘do whatever it takes’ to signBrazilinternationalRaphinhafrom FCBarcelona.

The Dutch head coach is keen to improve his squad ahead of next season. Mason Mount has already signed for Man Utd from Chelsea and they also look likely to buy Andre Onana from Inter Milan.

Whilethe Red Devilsare hoping to sign one or two new strikers, according to Spanish outletNacional, they are also in the market for a new winger.

Barcelona starRaphinhais said to be Ten Hag’s preferred target and they claim that he has asked Man Utd to ‘do whatever it takes’ to sign the former Leeds United man.

Their President – Joao Laporta – ‘is willing to negotiate’ and they have set their ‘minimum asking price at 60 million euros’ this summer.

The Red Devils ‘seem convinced by this operation’ and recruitments are apparently necessary out wide with Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial and Anthony Elanga ‘having no place in Ten Hag’s ρłɑɴs’.

Raphinha’s agent – former Chelsea star Deco – ‘no longer opposes his escape’ after just a single season with the Spanish giants. He grabbed seven goals and seven assists in the league for the La Liga champions during his debut year but he is consistently being linked with a move elsewhere.

This ɾєρօɾτ likely holds little weight as United’s priorities are known to lie elsewhere, with Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund and Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani being considered as potential striker signings.

But ex-Man Utd player Gordon Strachan does think that his former club’s wide players “need to do more”.

“I think they need more consistency from their wide players. The likes of Sancho, Garnacho, Antony, these players need to do more,”Strachan told Genting Casino.

“They need to start scoring more goals. For United to get closer to City, they need these wide players to be contributing at least 10 goals a season each.

“I think if they can do that, look to add a little bit more creativity and quality to the middle of the park and strengthen in the striker position, then United shouldn’t be scared of playing anybody next season.”

On Garnacho not being ready to be United’s No.7, he added: “The first thing I would say to him is earn it. Don’t come in and start demanding the number seven shirt.

“I admire the confidence that he has shown by asking for it, but that is a special shirt at the club that has been worn by some absolute legєɴԀs.”
