They had an opening offer of £35mknocked backfor the Cameroon international earlier this week, but are expected to return with an improved bid, particularly if both De Gea and HєɴԀerson leave the club.
It’s understood Inter want around £60m for Onana, who played a major role in the Italian club’s run to the Champions League final last season.
Whether United are prepared to pay that much remains to be seen, particularly given that much of their transfer budget has been set aside to sign a centre forward this summer.
A number of cheaper alternatives are being considered, including the likes of Brentford’s David Raya, Brighton’s Robert Sanchez and PSV’s Justin Bijlow.
