Agence France-Presse ɾєρօɾτs that the 11.15 carat Williamson Pink Star was sold at a Sotheby’s auction for $57.7 million or P3,389,933,309 based on current єxƈҺɑɴɢє rates. The final bid was twice the estimated sale price of $21 million, as well as the second-highest price paid at auction for any jewel, according to Sotheby’s.
Pink diamonds are the rarest of the precious gems, with the Williamson Pink Star being the second-largest pink diamond to be sold at auction. The world record for a pink diamond was set by the CTF Pink Star which was sold for $71.2 million in 2017.
