Treble-winningManchester Cityare confident that they will break the £700million revenue barrier this season – setting a British record and blowing rivals United out of the water in the process.

United currently hold the honour after they bɾօυɢҺt in £627m in 2018-19 and earlier this week Old Trafford officials announced that they will top that with a forecast of between £630m and £640m for the current year.

However, bosses at their neighbours believe that they will rake in more than £700m on the back of what has been a historic season of success at the Etihad Stadium underPep Guardiola.

Cash from broadcasting, media and commercial will make up the bulk of a sum that will further enhance City’s standing at the top of football’s rich list – with £300m generated from their march to glory in thePremier League, FA Cup andChampions League.

The final figure may well fall short of the world record of £726m set by Barcelona in 2020 ahead of their financial crisis. However, City are expected to reap the dividєɴԀs from their European glory in Istanbul beyond the єɴԀ of the ɾєρօɾτing campaign, that єɴԀs this month.

City’s retail numbers for 2022-23 are up 81 per cent while their new home kit has exceeded previous season sales by 84 per cent since it launched on May 19.

Prize money is also significant, with money in the pot from their successes in Europe, the Premier League and FA Cup. When television money and ticket sales is added, their Champions League victory alone was worth a staggering £113m.

£70m completing a rosy picture. While City may well break the record for world football next year, they still have some way to go to get to the mark in world sport, which is set by the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

The huge Texas franchise recently became the first sports organisation on the ρłɑɴet to break the $1bn barrier thanks largely to a slew of new sponsorships. Ads at their vast, sate-of-the-art AT&T Stadium alone grossed $220m.

City are set, however, to retain their place at the top of Deloitte’s Money League for a third year in succession and widen the gap on Real Madrid – the club they defeated in the Champions League semi-final.
