Amad ɾєɑƈτȿ as Zidane Iqbal speaks out to confirm Manchester United exit

Manchester United midfielder Zidane Iqbal has spoken out to confirm his exit from Old Trafford.

Posting viaInstagram,Zidane Iqbalwrote an emotional goodbye in reference to his upcoming departure from the club.

The Athleticɾєρօɾτed this week that Zidane Iqbal is set to be sold to Eredivisie side FC Utrecht for a fee of £860,000.

Iqbal was on the fringes of the Manchester United side, featuring as an unused substitute 17 times last season.

Iqbal wrote a мєȿȿɑɢє referring to Manchester United being his home since he was just five-years-old.

Now 20, he has chosen to depart to go and play regular first team football.

He wrote: “The time is right to go and take on a new challenge. It is one I cannot wait for and I’ll be applying myself with the same amount of desire, determination, and dedication that has taken me this far in my career.

“This is a perfect opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.”

Iqbal was eligible to play international football for both England and Pakistan, before choosing Iraq last season.

He made one first team appearance for Manchester United in late 2021.

His departure is expected to be confirmed by the club imminently, but it seems pretty much official at this stage.

Iqbal’s young teammates at Manchester United reached out to wish him well, with Amad, Marc Jurad and Charlie ȿɑⱱɑɢє among those to reach out and wish him well.

Iqbal becomes the first Manchester United player to be sold this summer, adding to theseven players who were released by the club last week.

There also remain questions over the future of goalkeeperDavid de Gea, whose contract is set to expire.
