Newcastle United have ɾєρօɾτedly offeredBarcelonathe chance to sign Bruno Guimaraes, but only if they can getRaphinhain return.
The Magpiesare believed to be very keen on signingRaphinhaas Eddie Howe looks to bolster his frontline.
Howe is also ɾєρօɾτedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby.
The signing ofRaphinhawould be a spectacular one for Newcastle, who are preparing for their return to the Champions League, but the player himself recently said he will not be on the move this summer.
Amidst interest from theGeordiesandArsenal, the former Leeds United star said:”I will stay atBarcanext season and the season after next, and the season after that, I have many years on my contract and I hope to serve those years and many more.
“Barcelona is a city I love, we Brazilians are very happy here.”
In May, Spanish journalist Gerard Romero said Newcastle made an€80million bid to signRaphinhaas Howe aimed to make his intentions clear ahead of the summer transfer window.
And Romero has now ɾєρօɾτed that Newcastle have made a very interesting offer to temptBarcelonainto a sale.
He says the Magpies have offered their star man, Bruno Guimaraes, on top of€30m for his Brazil teammate.
Guimaraes has been Newcastle’s best player since he joined from Lyon in January 2022.
He played a massive part in their fourth-place finish in the Premier League in 2022/23 and Liverpool, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have all registered an interest in signing him.
A ɾєρօɾτ last month saidLiverpool opened talks to sign Guimaraes, though the player’s priority has always been to sign a new contract at St James’ Park.
This claim from Romero is a very bold one. From the outside looking in, you have to say there is no chance Newcastle have made this offer.
Of course Howe wants to sign a player of Raphinha’s quality, but he would not sacrifice someone as important for theBarcaman.
If it is true, there will be riots in the north east.
