Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco is on the agєɴԀa at FCBarcelonaheading into the summer transfer window. The 29-year-old ace has been on the Catalan giants’ radars since the January window when they tried to sign him as part of the Memphis Depay Ԁєɑł.
While a move did not materialise back then,Barçasecured a purchase option worth around €16 million for Carrasco for this summer andρłɑɴ to sign him if they sell Ferran Torres.
Carrasco is currently away on international duty with Belgium and during a media briefing, the winger was asked questions about his future and a possible transfer toBarcelonain the summer.
And the Atletico Madrid winger was coy on the matter, as he suggested that he was happy at Atletico Madrid but stated that one never knows what can happen in football.
As quoted bySPORT, he said:”I don’t want to talk too much about it because I still have a year on my contract and I’m focused on Belgium. The holidays will come and then we’ll think about what can happen.
“I see myself doing pre-season with Atletico. I’m happy at the club, but you never know what can happen every summer. If something comes up, we will communicate it to Atlético and we will look for the best solution for all parties.”
Continuing further, Carrasco added:”In the next few weeks we will have to think about whether or not an offer comes in. That offer may come, there may be a contract extension with Atletico or I can complete the remaining year of my contract. Everything will be evaluated.”
While Carrasco remains on Barcelona’s agєɴԀa for the summer,his signing is no longer seen as an utmost priority. A move for the Belgian, or a left-winger in general, will only be considered if there is room with regard to Financial Fair Play after the priority positions are addressed.
